The W̱SÁNEĆ College (formerly Saanich Adult Education Centre) is here to serve the W̱JOȽEȽP (Tsartlip), SȾÁUTW̱ (Tsawout), W̱S͸ḴEM (Tseycum), and BOḰEĆEN (Pauquachin) communities, as well as many others.
We are part of the W̱SÁNEĆ School Board (W̱SB) and we offer a variety of programs that serve to meet the needs of the individual learner - ages 17 and upward. We offer a number of programs including Adult Dogwood programming, SENĆOŦEN language classes, as well as post-secondary programs through partnerships with Camosun College and the University of Victoria.
We also offer a variety of student services to ensure our learners are supported in all aspects of their educational journeys.
Since W̱SÁNEĆ College is part of the W̱SÁNEĆ School Board (W̱SB), some information—such as careers, policies, and other organizational resources—is shared between the two websites. You may occasionally be directed to the W̱SB website for additional details.
W̱SÁNEĆ College exists to create a welcoming, supportive learning environment where adult learners feel encouraged to grow, explore new opportunities, and build confidence in their educational journeys. We recognize that every learner’s path is unique, and we are committed to meeting people where they are — academically, culturally, and personally.
At W̱SÁNEĆ College, learning is grounded in relationship-building, cultural connection, and respect. Our small class sizes and community-focused approach allow learners to receive individualized support and meaningful guidance from dedicated staff. We strive to create a learning space where learners feel safe, supported, and empowered to reach their goals.
Our work is guided by values of respect, inclusion, community, and cultural integrity. We are committed to honouring W̱SÁNEĆ identity while welcoming learners from diverse backgrounds, and to supporting learners as they build skills, confidence, and opportunities for the future.

The W̱SÁNEĆ School Board provides educational programming, SENĆOŦEN language, and lifelong learning opportunities through the SȽEȽEMW̱ Child Development Centre, ȽÁU,WELṈEW̱ Tribal School, LENOṈET SCUL,ÁUTW̱, W̱SÁNEĆ Leadership Secondary School, and W̱SÁNEĆ College, serving over 500 learners.
The W̱SÁNEĆ School Board is founded on W̱SÁNEĆ values and the principles of First Nations Control of First Nations Education, representing over 50 years of collaborative leadership and governance by the elected Chiefs and Councils of W̱JOȽEȽP/Tsartlip, SȾÁUTW̱/Tsawout, BOḰEĆEN/Pauquachin, and W̱SÍKEM/Tseycum First Nations. This milestone reflects continued growth in SENĆOŦEN language immersion and ÁLEṈENEȻ (Learning from the Homelands), the transformation of the Saanich Adult Education Centre into W̱SÁNEĆ College, and the production of the documentary I¸ŚETEṈ E TŦE ĆESE ŚX̱ENÁṈs TEṈEW̱ – Walking in Two Worlds.
Together, these achievements reflect the vision and dreams of W̱SÁNEĆ Elders—past and present—and affirm the continued exercise of jurisdiction and sovereignty over education.
