I specialize in environmental education, with a focus on eco-sociology, centring Indigenous futures, and the other-than-human world. I have had the privilege of working with Indigenous educators around the world for more than 20 years, exploring the interactions between environmental and Indigenous ways of knowing.
Working with decolonizing methods, I engage in multi-modal, community-based research that takes direction from local First Nations. I am the Associate Director for W̱SÁNEĆ College, where I help develop Indigenous post-secondary education. I recently worked in the Faculty of Education at Southern Cross University, Department of Environmental Studies at Western Washington University and continue as an Associate Adjunct Professor in the School of Environmental Studies at the University of Victoria. I am a father and a husband, and I love my family very much.
